On April 5-7, Aroha Arts Collective LLC, a local arts organization, is organizing the first annual Convergence Symposium. We invite you to contribute monetarily to this unique initiative. Our purpose in organizing this symposium is twofold. One is to provide an opportunity for people to learn or receive additional training in an artform. The second is to create a space for exploration of possibilities for using the arts for social action. We define social action as being an action that leads to any of the following: healing, education, community building, and/or community action. The spirit of this undertaking is one of exploration, collaboration, encouragement, urgency in action with the underlying principle being love.
Another unique feature of this event is that we will utilize local venues in and around downtown Florence for arts focused workshops. These workshops will produce performance and visual art that will be presented for the pubic in the evening of the second day.
Your contribution will go, in its entirety, to costs related to having this be a successful event. No monies will go to the organizer(s) for personal gain. All monies will be deposited into an account specifically for this event. Any monies left over will go towards the costs for the following year. In order to have transparency, a running record of deposits and expenditures in the form of bank statements will be provided to all sponsors at the close of the event.
